After being given an old cornet, that his father learnt on, when he was 6, David's passion for brass began.
David started playing the trombone when his arms were long enough to reach the lower positions and quickly climbed through the grades. When he was 15, he joined the then National Youth Brass Band Champions- Hampshire Youth Brass Band under the baton of Jock McKenzie.
It was only when he played Mahler's 2nd symphony with his first orchestra that he realised he could make a career out of playing the trombone. He made applications to each UK conservatoire in hope he had the talent to be accepted into one of them. In 2012, he started at the world renowned Royal College of Music.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2018, David has been a highly sought after teacher and performer. He holds teaching positions at two independent schools, as well as teaching privately.
He enjoys performing orchestral and ballet works as well as jazz and musical theatre and has been lucky enough to work with many professional orchestras in the UK.
In his spare time, David enjoys cooking, hiking, and looking after his many houseplants.
